I am getting a puppy in 4 weeks, and I know all about injections, worming, spaying etc, but just wondering, I had a dog less than a year ago that we had to hand back to the rescue centre because when my Mum died she just counldn't settle, and so no we're getting a puppy because the house is so empty, I'm just wondering if it will be ok to let the new pup into the garden between her injections since we had a dog before, there is no dog mess but not sure what can linger?
Can my puppy go out in the garden?
That shouldn't be an issue at all due to the time in between. But I would still go out with the puppy when she starts going out in the garden to make sure she doesn't get into anything or come across some other animals.
Reply:,The pup will be fine in the garden, I'm assuming that your last dog had all it's injections, plus with it been a while ago if it did have any thing wrong with it the disease wouldn't be able to survive that long.
Just make sure that no other dogs have access to the garden until your pup has had all its injections.
Reply:As long as no other dogs have access to your garden and your previous dog was uptodate with her vaccinations then there is no problem with this. Good Luck with your new pup, i have just gotten a 9 week old Cavalier, its so much hardwork, like having a toddler, but amazing and so worth it.
Reply:If you have recently had dogs with diseases, their germs will be everywhere and this would include your house. From your post I don't think that you have this problem. I have had dogs forever and I have always allowed my puppies to play in the garden. I do this from day one. Although it is important to avoid contact with other dogs, they must have some freedom.
Reply:I have always let my pup out into the garden from the first day, to start teaching it where the toilet area is. It's fine to let your pup out to explore his/her new surroudings. Good luck and enjoy!
Reply:As long as the dog you had previously was up to date on shots and was in good health it's perfectly fine to let the puppy out in the garden.
Reply:if the new pup has had both injections then of course it will be fine. You will need to make sure there are no small holes that puppy could escape through. Good luck, enjoy your puppy.
Reply:YES you can... all will be fine...
enjoy
Reply:that is not a prblem at all, anyway you should let him out in the garden!
Reply:yes its fine its got to learn to go toilet outside enjoy
Reply:Yer but keep a close eye on ur puppy until he/she is older
Reply:yes - enjoy him
