My Broccoli is Flowering too early.?
your broccoli has "bolted" and you can save the seed from the flowers
Reply:Oh so sorry, because this is not your fault.

Broccoli is a winter veggie.

Any garden center selling winter veggies in May is not the best one to visit. These plants are sold usually (depending on where you live) in the fall for a winter harvest.

But you see this kind of thing everywhere.

Customers demand tomato plants in the middle of December. The centers are trying to cater to a customer who expects to have things year around.

The best thing we can do is to eat fruits and veggies in season, and local farmers markets are your best bet.

Eventually you will get to know what tastes good when, and when to plant it.

good luck
Reply:as the other answer has said, they've bolted. this is caused by irregular watering. if it has been hot/dry all day and you water them whilst it is still hot, the suck up all the water fast. the plants 'think' it may happen again so produce flowers to make seed. if it is hot give them a quick water, just enough to dampen the soil but when the sun has set a dusk. i normally water my vegetables on my allotment around 7.30pm, or even later if you want, as long as you can see what youre doing!
