can you work in post office shops or garden centres or paper rounds? if not where can you work?

MY SON IS 14 AND WORKS ON THE MARKET FOR 1 HOUR BEFORE SCHOOL 2 DAYS A WEEK AND A SATURDAY MORNING FOR 1 HOUR AND EARNS 30.00 PER WEEK PAID ON THE DAY HE WORKS.


HE WAS JUST BORED ONE DAY AND DECIDED TO WALK AROUND THE MARKET AND ASK. THE GUY HE WORKS FOR WAS THE SECOND MARKET STALL HOLDER HE ASKED.

Reply:Some restaurants hire 14 year olds to be bustboys, and ice cream stands hire them to. If you cant find anywhere then there is always babysitting.
Reply:At 14, the only jobs I can think of is a paper round, however my brother when he was younger used to do a milk round with the local milkman, the only problem with that is very early mornings. Try your local shops (not high street shops though) they may be willing to give you a few hours a week after school.
Reply:My friends are both 14 and they work at a family-run grocery store (they're not part of the family)


I'd try a newsagents or privately owned grocery store.


Maybe a chackout person or a shelf stacker too


Or a sushi bar?


How about doing a paper run? Only you have to be up REALLY early, not much fun!!


My friend works as a cheese-weigher (lol)


she makes some pretty good money too!!


How about a job in a department store? You get discounts that way! :) And because they're rich you'd probably make a fair bit.


What about Maccers? (McDonalds)


They ONLY employ young people as service people


Or another of those junk food places.


My cousin worked at McDonalds when he was about 15 or 16

Reply:My friend started working on a vegetable market stall when he was 14 and is still working there....he's now 40!


Saturday jobs such as the market, or independent pet stores and that won't generally advertise for someone age 14, but it won't hurt to ask, I used to clean peoples cars from the age of 10 until I was 14 just by knocking a few peoples doors, a bit of gardening too in the summer, try putting an advert on a postcard in the local news agents or supermarket notice boards with an e-mail address, you'll soon get work.
