Have you seen any bumble-bee's yet???

We went to our local Garden-centre yesterday , there were quite a few Heather plants there and i counted up to eight bumble-bee's. Does that mean Spring is on the way and what happens when it stays cold like this , do they die?? That would be a pity:(

Have you seen any bumble-bee's yet???
Yes, I have a rosemary in flower and saw one on there yesterday. I've often seen them when we've had some unexpected warm sunshine, when the weather is cold, wet and windy they stay under cover.

I've heard bumble bees are on the decline, but I'm glad to say I have quite a few around my garden along with other bees.
Reply:Haven't seen any since The Bee movie Report Abuse

Reply:Yes a few although it does seem rather early (s.wales)
Reply:huge queen bee last weekend
Reply:There's some in Italy but it's still really cold
Reply:No, it's too early.

They've gone to Trinidad
Reply:no , they dont fly well in snowstorms...
Reply:I havent seen any yet, but as I live in cornwall im sure theres some around. Its quite mild down here.
Reply:Six more inches of snow last night, running out of places to put the stuff. So no, have not seen bumble-bee's.
Reply:im in ireland and work outdoors as far as i seen this year they never went away been buzzing around all winter.
Reply:Yes, they always do come out this early, that is why snow drops etc are in flower. What is more interesting is the number of honey bees I have seen this last few days- these are early.
Reply:Yes, a huge one the other day when I was outside - reminded me to go to the chemists for a supply of Piriton! Am horribly allergic!
Reply:Yes, saw a big mamma outside a couple of weeks ago in Berkshire. He looked happy!
Reply:Yes, there was a rather large one at the tea point this morning when I went to get the teas.

The bee was somewhat grumpy and being thwarted in it's attempts to get out by a series of closed windows.

Once that problem was remedied peace was restored to the world again.
Reply:not yet to cold here
Reply:I'm still looking out at 3 feet of snow here. Even the squirrels have gone back into hibernation after the January thaw.
